Please Note

The Annual Dinner:  HAALSA is monitoring Provincial health directives and local conditions regarding COVID-19. Currently, we have made no decision to cancel or postpone the Dinner. If we cancel the dinner we will inform everyone who has registered as soon as possible by email or, if we don't have an e-address for you, by telephone. We will also announce the cancellation in this alert box.

The Annual Tour that normally precedes the Annual Dinner has been cancelled due to the ongoing public health concerns concerning COVID-19 and in response to decisions taken by McMaster University and the Province of Ontario.

We can no longer accept requests to register because capacity at the venue has been reached.

We can no longer accept requests to register because the seating capacity at the venue has been reached.

Pre-registration is closed for both the Tour and the Dinner

We can no longer accept requests to register for either event
because capacity at both venues has been reached.

If you have already registered for the tour or dinner but now find that you cannot attend, please inform the HAALSA Secretary at "secretary@haalsa.org" as soon as possible, as we have a waiting list of people who would like to attend these events.

The tour and dinner are usually held during the last two weeks in April or the first week in May.

These events will be announced at the Spring lectures and in an email to all members and friends.

Enter via the main doors on the north side of the building and wait in the lobby area, where our guide(s) will meet us.
Please give your $? tour fee (or your $? tour and dinner payment) to the HAALSA Treasurer at the door or otherwise when arriving at .... A guide will walk us through the building.

Metered street parking to 6:00 pm is available in the immediate area. Free parking is available on nearby side streets but give careful attention to the city's posted on-street parking signs before parking and/or leaving your vehicle.
Free parking is available after 5:00 pm on Lot 2, immediately north of the main entrance to the building. Lot 2 is accessed from the driveway that runs along the side of the building, from the the west (southbound) side of Longwood Road South. There are traffic lights where the MARC driveway meets Longwood.

The Dinner

Seating at 7:00 pm sharp.
•  Cost
$59.00 per person. Appetizer, main course, dessert, coffee (incl. decaf) and tea (incl. herbal), tax, and tip.
Pay for your dinner by cash or cheque payable to "The Hamilton Association" or "HAALSA". Give your payment to the Treasurer at the restaurant before being seated (or at the site of the annual tour).
You can purchase alcoholic beverages prior to or during the dinner. Your server will bill you for these purchases. You will pay your server at the end of the evening.

   Dinner from
   the Tour Site
•  Parking
Parking is available on the small lot in front of the building. If the lot is full, try the for-pay lot behind the Medical Arts building on Yonge St, opposite La Piazza`s building. If you choose to part on a neighbouring street, give careful attention to all posted on- and off-street parking signs before leaving your vehicle. Ensure no valuables are visible within your vehicle.
•  Accessibilty
The restaurant is accessible from the parking lot via either steps or a ramp. The area where we will be seated is above the entrance level and is accessible via five or six steps. The washrooms are on the floor below the entrance level and are accessible only via steps.

How to Cancel or Change Your Registration and Why Doing So Is Important

Please inform the HAALSA Secretary of a cancellation or change in your registration, either by email (secretary@haalsa.org) or telephone (905-527-0080). (Email is preferred.)

Please provide . .

  • your name
  • your telephone number (even if submitting by email)
  • mention the event(s) concerned ("the tour", "the dinner")
  • for the Tour      – the number of persons in your group who will not be attending
  • for the Dinner   – the name of each person in your group who will not be attending

Our cancellation policy reflects the fact that the Association must commit to:

  • providing each event host with a specific minimum number of persons in attendance;
  • not allowing more than a specific maximum number of persons to register for each event; and
  • informing each host of the number of persons registered for the event as of the event's deadline for cancelling or changing a registration.
  • informing the dinner host of the meal choice(s) of each person registered for the event as of the event's deadline for cancelling or changing a registration.

Finally and certainly not least, at the conclusion of each event, if the number in attendance is less than either the required minimum number of persons or the number who had registered to attend as of the event's deadline, then HAALSA is obliged to pay our host the shortfall in event fees arising from our failure to meet our attendance commitments.

Consequently, please do not hesitate to inform the Secretary as soon as possible of any change in your registration details.


Legal Stuff — Your Obligations

By registering for any of the above events, you are agreeing to . .

  • abide by the terms of our cancellation policy; and
  • pay both the prescribed per-person fees and any additional charges that you and your guests (other members of your registration group) may incur in the course of attending the event. More specifically, you are agreeing to pay whichever of the following are applicable, . .
    • our or our tour-host's fee for "The Tour"
    • HAALSA's fee for "The Dinner"
    • our dinner-host's charges for any food or beverages, ordered or consumed, that are not on the approved menu (above).

You are also confirming that you . .

  • have read and understood the Association's cancellation policy;
  • have noted any deadline(s) associated with the above events; and
  • agree to reimburse the Association for any out-of-pocket costs incurred, directly or indirectly, on behalf of you and any other member of your group (your guests), in respect to an event that you or any of your guests did not attend and for which you did not, prior to the stated deadline for the event, provide the Association with the required notice of cancellation or change in the number of persons registered to attend the event; or, in the absence of a specific deadline, you did not, prior to the event, provide the Association with a clear and timely notice of cancellation or change in the number of members in your group.
