Download Our Printer-Friendly Donation Form
Although our public events are free for all who wish to attend, we do have event expenses to cover and awards to distribute to students. All donations are, therefore, most welcome, no matter the amount, no matter when received.
A donation for membership in the Association is optional, as is any donation to an award fund or "other expenses".
HAALSA provides an official receipt for tax purposes for all direct donations of $10 or more, including e-transfers. An official receipt for an indirect donation to the Association—one made through another charity, such as CanadaHelps—is provided by that charity.
Not sure what we do? Use the links at the top of this page to access more information about HAALSA, our awards, and our lectures.

Donate by credit card or Paypal on the CanadaHelps website
CanadaHelps (CH) is a registered Canadian Charity that provides an online platform where you can search for and donate to any of several hundred thousand registered Canadian charities.
CanadaHelps provides donors with the option to give once or monthly, to give anonymously, and to track their personal donations. It also provides instant official receipts for tax purposes. Donors can use any major credit card, Paypal, or a CH gift card to make their donation. CanadaHelps forwards to the designated charity the amount donated (less a fee, usually 4.0%) during the following two weeks.
We strongly recommend that before going to the CanadaHelps website you download and print our Donation Form. Enter on the form the amount in question for each category you wish to support, then enter your donation total. The completed form can be retained as your record of the details of your donation—and it's all on one sheet, an arrangement that you may find more convenient than what CanadaHelps provides for donors.

Can I donate a non-cash gift (a Gift-in-Kind)?
A gift-in-kind can be almost any property other than cash, cheques, and e-transfers. It can be a material object, a life insurance policy, stocks and bonds, a building, and land. In the past we have accepted recently published books (to be used as honoraria gifts for our lecture-series speakers), data processing equipment such as a computer, a monitor, audio/video cables and adaptors, and securities.
Apart from securities, which will always be welcome, you may donate a gift-in-kind subject to HAALSA's willingness to accept the donation.
If you have something other than securities that you think may be of use to the Association, please email a summary description of the item(s) to the HAALSA Webmaster (webmaster@haalsa.org) or telephone the Webmaster at the number provided our on About Us page.
In the case of securities, please see the next section.
Can I donate Securities (Stocks and Bonds)?
Yes. We recommend that you donate via the CanadaHelps website but that's not a requirement.
For a detailed guide to donating securities go to our Donating Securities page.
